Hello, I have meanwhile bought the GM MDI2. Tested it today with tech2win but can’t connect to multiple modules e.g. B. Airbag module. This module uses the UART protocol. Can MDI2 clone really handle UART protocol? Any ideas how I could try to establish communication with the airbag module?

Solution:

In tech2win there is a setting to supress the connection time-out. This way tech2win keeps listening to the MDI instead of giving the connection error. After several attempts I managed to get the data out of the airbag module. The protocol for this is GM UART.

The connection is not very stable and needs some attempts, but eventually the data can be read. My problem is therefore fixed!
